Title: Normal
Rating: G
Fandom: Smallville/Supernatural
Character: Chloe Sullivan
Just a small AU drabble (or random craziness). It's a part of a fic idea I've been thinking about for a long, long time but am too scared to write.
“Dad!” Chloe ran over and threw her arms around Gabe. “How—what, what are you doing here?”
He brushed a hand over the side of her head, “What? I can’t come and see my little girl?”
“No, no, you…I’m so happy you’re here, Dad.” She buried herself further into his warm embrace. “I miss you so much.”
Gabe laughed, pulling away to look at her properly, “Chloe…I’m right here, how can you miss me?”
Chloe shook her head and moved to hide her watering eyes in his chest. “I didn’t think you were coming back.” She tightened her arms around him. She couldn’t believe he was there, in front of her—holding her. Maybe it had been a terrible dream. He felt so…alive.
“See, look at that,” he turned her around to face a mirror hanging on the wall behind her. They stood next to each other, an arm wrapped around the other. “We’re family, sweetheart. We’re all we’ve got. I won’t ever leave you alone.”
She looked up at his reflection and froze.
His eyes were coated with a sickly yellow substance.
Chloe shoved his arm off her shoulders, “You!” Her father’s kind face twisted into a smirk. “Get away from my father!”
“Now, that? Would be interesting.” He began to circle her but stopped as she jerked further away. “Aw, is this the welcoming party I get? I just wanted to let you know, sweetheart…I’m real proud of you.”
Chloe suddenly twitched and opened her eyes. She sat up, her eyes habitually surveying the dark and empty motel room for anything not in its rightful place. Finding nothing out of order, she took a sip of water from the glass on the side table before lying back down.
Just another good night’s sleep.
