10x15 "Fortune" Chlollie Picspam

I have a lot more to say but art's easier for me so to express my crazy joy...
How cute is Ollie! Maybe I missed some clue, but I have no idea whether it's before or after the wedding...if it's before, then he covers his eyes so he doesn't see her in the dress, if it's after, then it's his very unsuccessful (but hilarious) way of hiding from her. Either way it's adorable!
I do believe she was going to meet him later on and tell him (Star City Register's newest hire. STAR CITY!!! But I'll get back to that later...). Oliver knows her. She needs more than Watchtower and like he says--he knows that. He decides to catch her off-guard before she could build up whatever strength she'd need to tell him, facing the possibility that that could be the end of them. It broke my heart just a little when he says 'you're leaving again.' And maybe for a second he remembers feeling vulnerable and insecure...her leaving, the thought of living without her. But he's confident now and yeah, sure she could leave. It's okay because she wasn't gonna leave without him.

And this is probably my favorite Chlollie scene. Ever. Apart from the fact that I swear I dreamed about this after the trailer for "Fortune" aired last week. I imagined Ollie handing her the other half of the marriage certificate, her just staring at in happy disbelief, tearing up as she smiled up at him. And I was thinking that's the perfect way I'd want the episode to end...and it FREAKIN' HAPPENED.
This. This is the Chlollie of my dreams (I'm sorry but I think it's understandable that I'm in such a cheesy mood). This is the Chlollie that writers like

Before Oliver existed in the SV universe, before Chlollie, there was Chloe. And Chloe's always been first for me. After ten years (I can't believe ten) of watching this show, falling for her the first scene I saw, to see her happy is just...too awesome to say anything.
My happy beginning. I love that she's going back to journalism. I think when it comes to her career, her passion, it was the last time we saw her truly happy. And maybe, hopefully (okay--I believe she will) she'll learn to balance and find happiness in both of her worlds.
Star City. With Oliver. Recruiting heroes around the world. Still so, so hard to believe we got our perfect

I'm too deeply stuck in denial to accept that it's over sooo...yeah, not dealing with that yet. Luckily there's still JH's remaining episodes to look forward to.

My guess is he's asking Lois for help with the rings, because he said he had no wallet or phone in those pants, and was complaining to Clark about the cheapness of the rings. I think he wanted Lois to play blackjack, and help him win some money. LOL
2. The one part I LOVE also, is the look he gives her during the video watching. At that point, he KNOWS they are married, but Chloe still doesn't know. I was so tickled, because you can imagine what's going on in his head. He's looking at her thinking, "That's my wife!"
3. My favorite Chlollie scene is the same as yours. That moment when he hands her the certificate and realization dawns on her face, and he's watching her the whole time. His face. OMG his face. (One thing I have always loved about these two is that they show so much, and communicate so much with mere facial expressions, but anyway.. I digress...). He's got adoration, hope, fear, expectation, love, all rolled into one in his expression. Guh. He's so in love.
4. I never believed Chloe was going to leave him. She's leaving Metropolis and Watchtower behind. What she had no guarantee of, was that Oliver would follow her, and nor would she ask him to give up his life to do that. She took a job in Star City, that shows me she had every intention of being near him in some capacity.

But i still teared up when she was suddenly nervous, almost heartbreaking, that split second before Ollie pulled out his half of the certificate. It was like the whole fandom took a collective breath.
The fandom continent gasp, i guess you could call it? The FCG, for short? I'm rambling. LOL!

Chloe was always first for me too, she was not the reason I tuned into the first episode- Superman was. But let me tell you, Chloe is the reason I stayed. For 10 years, since I was around 12(!!), I grew up looking up to her character- wanting to be Chloe. And although I'm still lost as to who I am, what I want to be (I think I need to get back into writing), I hope I get the happy ending Chloe had!
But really, seeing seasons of Chloe cry over Clark, lose Jimmy (but gotta say...happy that didn't last. ), and etc. to see her end up with her true love and know who she is, was just amazing.
TV shows and tv characters come and go, but I don't think I'll ever forget Allison Mack's protrayal of Chloe Sullivan. Even during the times (many...many times) Smallville, well, sucked...Chloe was always dependable, always a breath of fresh air!
Anyways, derailing there, sorry- FANTASTIC post! I adore the art!!! I soo missed the part where Oliver ran by Chloe while shielding his vision from the bride, lmao!

on 2011-02-28 07:25 am (UTC)It was exactly the same for me. Well, except I first tuned in for Lex ;) and then stayed for Chloe Sullivan. And there's no way I would've stuck with the show for this long if it hadn't been for her.
She's been through so much crap. She's so amazingly generous, to a fault, that she spent so much of her young life living for others. And for her to finally reach that point in her life, where she's happy, and to find that love that only wants the best for her, who understands her on every level...too, too awesome for words! :D

Because I was sure they would end up getting married, since Ausellio said "they're going to have a big moment, and I DO meant it" . Since that I became a crazy fangirl waiting for this moment to happend.
But even suspecting something, I cried my eyes out on the last scene, when she was running away...but that wasn't running, she was going away but for his home town!. IF she would leave him again she could have gone to another city. But nope, she choose Star City to start over *Sigh*. Perfect beggining! :D

Not the best job in the world but highly entertaining. When he handed he the marriage certificate I pretty much lost it. I was so freakin' happy to see they actually got married. Like you siad this was the Chlollie of my dreams and it actually came true. That is just so awesome. The look on Ollie's face when he says husband to her was breathtaking. You could really tell the emotion of happiness was going through him. Chloe has always been my favorite, so this was so peerfect to see her finally be happy. I'm so glad she is going back to journalism, but by night recuriting heroes all the while being with her husband. You are 100% right if anyone deserves their happy ending it is these two. It is just so freakin' adorable how short she is compared to him.
I loved this picspam. Phenomenal job. Thanks to this I think I am still on the high of them finally being together for good.

That's one of the gazillion reasons that made it so perfect. Just through the way they were looking at each other, they were so honest and open in that moment. I'm so happy they're gonna go off to Star City and start their lives.

I'm not quite sure why, but I think my favorite is the B&W of them with their marriage certificate at the bottom. For all I know, it took the longest to make, but it's got a beautiful simplicity to it.
Also, I have to say I think the first scene you have (with Oliver "hiding" from Chloe) is after they get married. If only, because he and Lois are missing from the rest of the drunken-home-video.

That's what I thought too! That it was after they get married. Everyone else is convinced it's before but since they do separate from everyone else. I figured Oliver took Lois to go help him win some money (since he lost/left his wallet in his other pants) to get Chloe a better ring.

I know, I ALWAYS loved-love Chloe, and I see a lot of her in me, and visceversa, i cant totally relate to her character, everytime she was in pain, I was too. Like, for example, I cried like a baby in the scene of the 2º season, the one in which Chloe told Clark that It was difficult to think that she wasn't worth it enought to someone to love her. Or, for example, when she told Clark that he never was there for her, that he always putted Lana first, and that her was just a rebound, always the 2º choice.
An now, to see her happy, confident, proud and glad with who she is, with a man by her side that loves her more that anything... It's just so, so so so so so so so so perfect.

What I really love here is that Chloe actually went back to that original Chloe, the one in her yearbook. Because, back then she was doing exactly what she's realized her true calling is - helping a young hero and being a journalist. That picture of her that she called Chloe 1.0 was the end of S4, when she was running the Torch and covering Clark's ass, even though she didn't know the full extent of the truth about him.
While I would have liked to have had more of a build up to it, I love the fact that she's that girl again, but just grown up and matured by her experiences. And the fact that that maturity and understanding of herself is going to be the basis of the beginning of the rest of her life with Oliver makes me beyond happy. I completely agree with you that this is exactly how the best of Chlollie stories have been written in fandom.

This is ultimately what really made me happy. She'd already had that balance before...she wasn't just living her life for everyone else, she was living her life, doing what she loved. And like you said, knowing that she's finally there again and that's the basis of the beginning of the rest of her life with Oliver is what makes it so awesome. You can see that she's learned and moved on from her past experiences. She's not hiding anymore--she took the job in Star City for the very obvious reason.

Oh, man...I felt so bad for JH having to wear that. I remember him once saying (few years ago) at a convention that he was the only one really in a costume and how TW would just walk in in jeans and a t-shirt, how easy it was to pick him out of the lunch line...and then the poor guy had wear this! Lol. But his dancing was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at how straight-faced he was when the guy was hitting on him!

For me that ending scene was just perfect, AM and JH just *killed* that scene and the music, i cried buckets. I love how he's not even worried, like the fact they are married doesnt faze him, like he *knew* they would always be together. The scene also had beautiful colouring.

Exactly! He just wasn't worried. He was hopeful but he knew they loved each other and this was it for him--for the both of them.
