This. I remember being so excited that they were going to share a storyline when he came back for "Siren" in season 7. I thought, this was the best we're going to get and I'll watch that opening scene on the Daily Planet over and over again.
They got so little time on-screen to develop their relationship but they sold the crap out of it.
I also love how in just about every kiss they are smiling, and if you look closely enough JH likes to slip a tiny bit of tongue on her. .hahahaha..
